A teenager acquires special powers on her 16th birthday and learns she's a descendant of an ancient race of protectors who are pursued by human assassins.
Chloe is forced to leave Brian behind at an art gala, where he shares a secret with her. Chloe and Alek then get into a fight, and he secretly follows her, while Amy gets into a dangerous situation after she finds a new boyfriend who likes to gamble.
Chloe's excitement at attending the Rezza Capital art gala with Brian is offset by an overwhelming sense of danger. It isn't until she receives a call that Amy is in trouble that she runs from Brian yet again - but not before he reveals something that could change their relationship forever. Will Brian's secret allow Chloe to finally open up, or will it force her to leave him behind for good?
Chloe King is looking forward to celebrating her birthday with her friends and single mother, just like every other year, that is until she starts developing heightened abilities and discovers she's being pursued by a mysterious figure. Chloe soon learns she's part of an ancient race which has been hunted by human assassins for millennia - and that she may be their only hope for ultimate survival.
